Obituary of Stephen D. Surgeon

Stephen D. Surgeon, 70, of Jamestown, NY passed away at 9:55 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016, in W.C.A. Hospital. A Jamestown area resident since 1997, he was born December 23, 1945 in Canonsburg, PA the son of the late Helen Dresko. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from September 18, 1964 to February 6, 1968. During his tour of duty he received the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the expert Rifle Badge and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Before his retirement he was a self-employed general contractor. He was also an expert artist specializing in water colors. Surviving is a daughter, Sonya Jensen of Weirton, West VA, three grandchildren, Myranda Jensen, Tyler Jensen, Dylan Carpenter all of West VA, two sisters, Mary Ann Flansburg, Paula Fletcher both of Rochester, NY, a brother Fr. John Dresko of Las Vegas, NV as well as several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 10:00 am Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
