Obituary of Don C. Frank

Don C. Frank, 91, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Lutheran Retirement Home. He was born in Jamestown on June 20, 1925, the son of the late Alton and Carrie Lord Frank, and graduated from Falconer High School in 1943. Don served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 and was discharged a Sergeant 1st Class. He was employed as a production manager by the Marlin Rockwell Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1986. During this time he returned to school to earn his registered nursing degree. He was employed as a nurse by the Lutheran Home for many years, and also volunteered with Hospice and AIDS Community Services. Don was a longtime, active member of Tree of Life - Immanuel Lutheran Church and formerly belonged to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer. He is survived by a daughter, Ann McKillip of Jamestown; a son, Dwight (Anne) Frank of Dewey, Ariz.; a grandson, Adam McKillip of Bemus Point, NY; and a granddaughter, Kellie (Kyle) Storck and great-granddaughter, Annaleigh, all of Phoenix, Ariz. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Crofoot Frank, whom he married December 8, 1956 and who died April 14, 2005; a grandson, Jason Noah McKillip who died in 1988; son-in-law, Ronald McKillip who died in 2014; and in 2016, a sister, Betty Thieme. A memorial service and visitation will be announced at a later date by the Lind Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W.
