Obituary of Russell J. Fowler

Russell J. Fowler, 44, of Jamestown, passed away at 4:28 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, in the Select Specialty Hospital, Erie, PA. A Jamestown area resident for the past 12 years, he was born January 22, 1972 in Greenville, PA, a son of John C. and Janet Griffin Fowler. Before his illness he was employed by the Resource Center and attended the Christ First United Methodist Church with his mother. He will be remembered as one who loved cats, especially his cat Meshka. Surviving are his father John Fowler of Corry, PA, his mother Janet Fowler of Jamestown, his aunt and uncle, James (Linda) Fowler of Hysteria, CA, his aunt, Sue Griffin of Laurinburg, NC and his close friend, David Lurtz of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Russell H. and Edna E. Griffin, his paternal grandparents, John and Arena Fowler and his two uncles, Bruce and David Griffin. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, in Christ Chapel of Christ First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Natalie Hanson, pastor will officiate. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Christ First United Methodist Church or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
