Obituary of Charles Howard Fisher

Charles H. "Howard" Fisher Sr., 85, of 14 Valley St., passed away at 4:45 pm. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 in his home with his family around him. He was born February 22, 1931 in Little Valley, NY the son of the late Emmons E. and Laura L. Childs Fisher. Howard was a veteran of the US Army. Prior to retirement, he worked at Mayflower-Donelson Trucking in Jamestown. He was a member of the Celoron Moose and the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion in Celoron. Howard enjoyed Bingo, puzzles, and spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren. Surviving are three daughters: Debbie (late Mike) Coyle, Pam (late George) Lee, and Karen Kuhn; five sons: Charles H. Fisher Jr., Richard E. Fisher, Gary (Laura) Fisher, Richard M. and Jerry Welder; several grandchildren, including: Jennifer, Kathleen, Ann, Jessica, Angel, Chris, Keith, and Dana; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; a brother: Irving Fisher, a sister: June Wheaton; brother in law, Fred Burch; and Clair Kuhn who was always there to help. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Edna Ellsworth Fisher who died November 13, 2010; His sons-in-law: Mike Coyle and George Lee; his sister-in-law Bernice Fisher; and his brother-in-law Calvin Wheaton. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday November 27, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Deacon Cathy Smith, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Family and friends may call for one hour prior to the service Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, NY 14750.
