Obituary of Cynthia A. Carr
Cynthia A. (Salemme) Carr, 68, of Jamestown, formerly of 8 Locust St., passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at home after a long courageous battle with Pulmonary Hypertension.
She was born in Jamestown on August 17, 1948, the daughter of Doris M. Olson Salemme and the late Frank J. Salemme.
She was a 1966 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned her RN degree at Millard Fillmore in Buffalo.
Before retirement she had worked as an RN at WCA Hospital and the Red Cross.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, and cross stitching. Cynthia loved spending time with her grandchildren and family and will be missed greatly. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving besides her mother are her husband, Dennis E. Carr, whom she married July 18, 1970, three daughters, Andrea (Michael) LeBaron of Kennedy, Alicia (Jason) Gates of North East, PA, Abigail (Douglas) Frazier of Jamestown, nine grandchildren, Mikaela, Andrew, and Nolan LeBaron, Lauren and Alexis Gates, Cayden, Olivia, Adriana, and Carson Frazier, two sisters Cathleen (Stephen) Board, Candace (Michael) Berg, and a brother John (Brenda) Salemme.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and for 1 hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
