Obituary of Elizabeth M. Samuelson

Elizabeth M. Samuelson, 85, formerly of Falconer, NY, passed away Thursday December 8, 2016 in the Highland Hospital, Rochester, NY. She was born July 18, 1931 in Woodland, CA the daughter of the late John K. and Elise Keller Hagmaier. She was a graduate of Dumont High School in Dumont, NJ and graduated Cum Laude from Chico State College in Chico, CA. She then studied as an exchange student to Heidelberg University in Heidelberg, Germany. Elizabeth taught for the Woodland School District in Woodland, CA and for the Falconer Central School District, Falconer, NY, retiring in June 1990. She was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association; Southern Chautauqua County Retired Teachers Association; and AARP. Surviving are a brother, Karl Hagmaier of Pleasanton, CA; several nieces and nephews, Carlton Hagmaier and Cassandra Seay both of California; James V. Finnell of Mendon, NY; and Dr. Jack W. Finnell of Pittsford, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack V. Samuelson whom she married August 15, 1964 and who died December 29, 2005. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon on Friday December 16, 2016 at the Lind Funeral Home. A private service for family will follow. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
