Obituary of Richard A. Soderberg

Richard Allen Soderberg, Jr., 58, of 3610 Ellsworth Ave., Erie, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie. Richard was born in Jamestown on February 26, 1958, a son of Verna Conner Wyche and the late Richard Allen Soderberg, Sr. He attended Jamestown area schools, but lived most of his life at the Gertrude A. Barber Center in Erie where he worked in the Training Center Richard loved music and listening to his radio. He also loved eating out at restaurants with his family. Richard was an inspiration to all who knew him. Even though he had several physical limitations, he loved life and boldly shared his love with those around him. In addition to his mother, Verna, of Jamestown, Richard is survived by a sister, Anita (John) Keiner of Warren, Pa.; two brothers, Rev. Daniel (Karen) Soderberg and Michael (Debbie) Soderberg, both of Jamestown; and several cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Soderberg, Sr. and his special aunt and uncle, Mary Ellen and Al Miles. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, December 17 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Hinman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made in Richard's honor to the Gertrude A.
