Obituary of Glenn S. Piper

Glenn Scott Piper, 66, of Jamestown, NY passed away Sunday, December 25th of natural causes in Maple Springs, NY. Glenn was born in Cleveland, Ohio, June 8th 1950, son of Dr. William C. Piper and Lucille Piper. Glenn received his BA from Hiram College and MSW from Case Western Reserve University. He worked for Cuyahoga County Children's Home, J.N. Adam Developmental Center, and the Chautauqua County Resource Center, as a social worker. Astronomy, photography, fly fishing, hunting, and geology are just a few of his numerous areas of intense study and interest. He was also a Civil War buff who participated in many reenactments. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. William C. Piper of Chautauqua Institution and Tavares, Fl. and his aunt Bernice Piper of Parma, Ohio. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother, Lucille Piper of Chautauqua Institution and Tavares, FL; his daughter Caitlin L. (Piper), her husband Shawn Tobey and their expected baby girl of Rye, NH; brother Howard C. Piper of Maple Springs, NY; niece Caroline Piper of Boston, MA; brother David Piper of Indianapolis, IN; and nephew David Piper, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 29th at 1 pm at Lakewood United Methodist Church located at 164 Shadyside Ave, Lakewood, New York. Memorials may be made to the Jamestown Audubon Society 1600 Riverside Road Jamestown, NY 14701-9306.
