Obituary of Ruth M. Anderson

Ruth M. Anderson, 92, formerly of 1923 Shadyside Road and Memory Garden, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She was born February 21, 1924 in Warren, Pa., a daughter of the late Ernest H. and Mabel Sweting Nelson. In addition to raising her family, Ruth had in earlier years been employed by the former Art Metal Corp. and later by AVM in advertising. Following retirement, she did private duty nursing locally. She was a member of the Vikings, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Herman Kent Post American Legion. Ruth will be remembered by her family as a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother, as well as a caring sister. She is survived by a daughter, Susanne M. (Tim) Warden of Jamestown; two granddaughters: Kimberley Lynn George and Karaley Ann (Jim) Grey, both of Jamestown; and four great-grandchildren: Joseph and Jamie George, Ryan Pollino and Kyler Grey. Also surviving is a sister, Carol Burnet of Pennsylvania. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ray A. "Bunky" Anderson, who died February 9, 2006; a son, David L. Connelly, who died in 1986; a sister, Neva Anderson; and four brothers, Burdette, Doug, Raymond and Roger Nelson. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
