Obituary of C. Edward Sanderson

C. Edward Sanderson, 66, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in his home in Jamestown. He was born October 23, 1950 in Ithaca, NY, a son of Ruth Wicker Sanderson and the late Dr. Charles W. Sanderson. Ed was a graduate of the Darrow School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Westminster College. He was presently the service manager of Orkin Pest Control in Falconer. Ed was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown where he had served as an Elder. He also belonged to the National Wild Turkey Federation, Chautauqua County Federation of Sportsmen, Cold Springs Hunting Preserve, Friends of the NRA, and Lakewood and Falconer Rod & Gun Clubs. An avid sportsman, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also a devoted Buffalo Bills fan. A true family man, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his mother of Jamestown, surviving is his wife, Amy Miller Sanderson, whom he married January 8, 1994; five children: Lynn Kujan of Finksburg, MD, Scott Sanderson of Manchester, TN, Allison Sanderson of Washington, DC, and Adam Miller and Jodie Suber, both of Jamestown; nine grandchildren: Katie and Ashleagh Suber, Brandon Ellis, Martin Sanderson, Avery Brown, Arieanah Miller-Warrior, Ace Miller and Grant and Olivia Kujan; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Sanderson of Jamestown and sister, Barbara (Richard) Grover of Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his father in 1995 and his first wife, Carole Ann Sanderson in 1988. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Robert J. Hagel will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home, and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for one hour prior to the service in the church Saturday. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
