Obituary of Emily M. Newell

Emily M. Newell, 90, of Heritage Village Skilled Nursing Facility, formerly of Lovall Ave Jamestown, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday January 3, 2017. She was born August 28, 1926 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Roy B. and Stella Dohn Newell. Emily graduated from Jamestown High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Fredonia State College. She earned her Master's Degree in teaching from Colorado State College. Prior to retirement, she taught 4th grade at the former Lakewood Elementary School and earlier taught in Greely Colorado. Emily was an active member of the Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She is survived by a nephew, David McIntosh; niece, Renate McIntosh; two great nieces, Catherine McIntosh Owens and Crystal McIntosh; a great nephew, Johnathan McIntosh; four cousins, Dr. Donald (Carolyn) Dohn; Betty Ashley; Dorothy Farrington; and Barbara (Jack) Hamilton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie McIntosh. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home with the Rev. H. Wayne Eppehimer officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday January 9, 2017 in the Heritage Village Nursing Home Auditorium with the Rev. Samuel Shreffler and the Rev. Dan Bender officiating.
