Obituary of Robert E. Reedy

Robert E. Reedy, Sr., 85, of 101 School Avenue, West Ellicott, died Friday January 6, 2017, in Gowanda Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born February 8, 1931, in Kittanning, PA, a son of the late Sharon and Ruth Leasure Reedy. Following graduation from high school he served in the US Air Force and later the Seabees. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by City of Jamestown Department of Public Works from 1953-75. He was a member of many Masonic organizations including the Masonic Lodge, Ismalia Temple, Shrine and Grotto. He will be remembered as a hard worker and an ardent hunter. Surviving is his wife Lois Clever Reedy, whom he married December 2, 1952; two children Robert (Debra) Reedy II and Jean Reedy, both of Jamestown; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers James and Ray Reedy and two sisters Margaret Reedy and Norma Leasure. The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Tara Lamont Eastman will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
