Obituary of Dale W. Eddy
Dale W. Eddy, 79, of Ashville, NY, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Warren Manor in Warren, Pa.
He was born January 24, 1937 in Ashville, NY, a son of the late Kenneth and Dorothy Schruise Eddy, and was a 1954 graduate of Chautauqua Central School.
Dale had been employed for many years by Filegar Saw & Tool in Jamestown and earlier by Coca Cola of Jamestown.
A member of the Antique Car Club and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, he enjoyed classic cars, traveling and golf. Dale was also talented at carpentry and construction and built three of his own homes.
Surviving are three children: Todd (Melanie) Eddy of Panama, NY, Lynne (Steve) Rulander of Lander, Pa. and Tim (Debbie) Eddy of Ashville; and fourteen grandchildren: Carrie (Jesse) Gould of Ashville, Tonya (Orion) Purslow of Panama, Elijah (Jenn) Eddy of Sherman, Charity (John) Campbell of Ashville, Kayla (Justin) Swanson of Ashville, Cody, Rick and Josh Eddy of Panama, Kelvin Eddy of Busti, Casey Clark of Busti, Jacob (Ashley) Rulander of Warren, Heather (Jaime) California of Warren, Michael Rulander of Lander, and Nick (Lydia) Eddy of Buffalo. Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren: Jameson Irwin, Gracen Eddy and Jaxon Eddy of Sherman, Aurora, Xander and Stella Gould of Ashville, Truman Purslow, Lillian Purslow and Kirsten Chase of Panama, Glade Rulander of Warren, and Serenity Clark of Jamestown.
Dale was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Teresa Maus Eddy whom he married April 28, 1955 and who died August 5, 2005; as well as his father in 1962; his mother in 1976; brothers, Edward Eddy in 1993 and Robert Eddy in 2007; a sister, Vera Fricker in 2016; and a nephew, Kenny Eddy in 2016.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 13th in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Open Meadows Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
