Obituary of Nellie B. Nelson

Nellie B. Nelson was born on December 21, 1921 in Listerby Sweden. She came to America at the age of 4. She lived in Lakewood for all but the last 10 years. Nellie passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband A Edward Nelson; parents Thoralf and Ebba Warner; sister Inga Tramontana; brother, Hugo; She is survived by: brother Raymond (Joan) Warner; 3 daughters: Barbara (Stephen) Schneider, Linda (Knute) Burstrom, Becky (Rob) Giddy; Son, Randy (Sue) Nelson; 16 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Before retirement she worked at Lakewood Super Duper as head cashier; Darling Jewelers; and A &P Grocery in Lakewood. She was a member of RSVP; worked at Board of Election, Joy Club; Lakewood – Busti Golden Agers, and was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. She was as avid golfer and bowler for many years. She enjoyed being with all her family. Her biggest joy in retirement years was being "Grandma Nellie" to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Calling hours are 1 – 3 p.m., and funeral celebration will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January, 21, 2017 at the Lind Funeral Home in Jamestown, N.Y. Her son, Pastor Randy Nelson will officiate the celebration service.
