Obituary of Jorge L. Torres
Jorge L. (better known as Louie) Torres, 53, of 708 Washington Street, died peacefully Wednesday February 8, 2017, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA.
A Jamestown resident the last 45 years, he was born March 21, 1963, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a son of Jesus and Ada Rodriguez Torres.
He was a 1982 graduate of Jamestown High School.
A hard working man who never failed to make anyone smile, and always left a positive impact on anyone he's ever met, Louie was a long time employee of Miley's Old Inn and was employed by both Bill Miley and Chris Patrick and later employed by Chautauqua Institution this past summer. Louie participated in catering at the Elk's Club on multiple occasions.
He was a member of Jehovah's Witness South congregation.
He was always so full of life and there was nothing he loved more than dancing and getting together with all of his family members. Louie will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him and his memory will continue on forever.
Surviving are his parents Jesus & Ada Torres, brothers Jorge A. "Billy" Torres Sr., and Franklin Torres; sister Inelia Torres; sister-in-law Christine LaBelle; nieces Elisandra Torres and Ana Torres, nephew Jorge A Torres Jr., great nephew Isaiah A. Torres, and great niece Lillyanni Torres all of Jamestown. Louie is also survived by Uncles Pedro, Felix and Dominic Torres all of Puerto Rico, and Ariste Torres of Tennessee, also Uncle Robert Torres Sr. of Jamestown, along with several cousins who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his younger sister Enoelia Torres.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
