Obituary of Gregg G. Wilson

Gregg G. "Sweetness" Wilson, 47, of 915 Washington Street, died unexpectedly Sunday February 12, 2017, in his home. A Jamestown resident all of his life, he was born December 26, 1969, a son of George and Annie Davis Wilson. He was a 1988 graduate of Jamestown High School. Filled with Raider Pride, he was one of JHS's fine running backs whose love of football continued after high school. He was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. He was a veteran of the US Army and had worked as a counselor for Chautauqua Striders and the G.A. Home. Gregg had an infectious smile that could light up a room. He was very family oriented and loved his immediate and extended family. He had many "Moms" and was always ready to give a hug to everyone he met. He loved all types of music was teased for being a fan of Barry Manilow. Surviving besides his parents of Jamestown are two children Kianna and Kobe Wilson of Jamestown; two brothers George "Andy" (wife Celia) Wilson, Jr. and Chad Wilson both of Jamestown; a sister Yolanda Strudwick of Tampa, FL and two aunts Lilla Howard of Chicago, IL and Vicki Goble of Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by a sister Dr. Loretta Wilson Wade. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Leroy Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
