Obituary of Mary L. Radspinner
Mary L. Sager Radspinner, 97, formerly of Frewsburg and Greenhurst Village Drive passed away Sunday February 19, 2017 in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident, she was born June 2, 1919 in Sherman, NY the daughter of the late Chester and Maye Bowen Sager.
Mary was a graduate of Sherman High School and attended Jamestown Community College. She had worked as a Nurses Aide at WCA Hospital, retiring in 1985. She had also been employed at National Worsted Mills, the Dibert Home and in the kitchen at JCC.
Mary was a member of the Wheeler Hill Church in Frewsburg and attended Fluvanna Community Church. She was a member of the Ellery, Poland, and Frewsburg Senior Citizens; volunteered with Meals on Wheels; and enjoyed traveling out west. Mary enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, cooking, puzzles and she loved her cats.
Surviving are two daughters: Julie (Walt) Heilman of Kennedy; Susan (Jeff) Fairbanks of Falconer; three sons: Edward E. (Phyllis) Radspinner of Las Vegas, NV; Gary L. (Lani) Radspinner of Lakewood; Dale L. (Rosa) Radspinner of Colorado Springs, CO; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald E. Radspinner whom she married July 1, 1941 in the Sherman Baptist Church and who died September 28, 2001; two sons: Jeffry A. and Richard D. Radspinner; three daughters in law: Peg, Gloria, and Sallie Radspinner; two sisters: Irene Kerstteter and Annabelle McCan; and three brothers: Leon, Earl, and Mearl Sager.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday March 4, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
