Obituary of Richard M. Sweeney
Richard M. Sweeney, 76, of 304 E. Elmwood Avenue, Falconer, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing.
He was born July 6, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late John P. and Anna Hunt Sweeney, and was a graduate of Jamestown Business College.
He had been employed as a glass cutter by Falconer Glass Industries, retiring at the time of the plant's closing. He was also a member of the New Apostolic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Wright Sweeney, whom he married in 1972; seven children: Deborah Miller, Lorie Hallmark, and Kathy Hallmark, all of Jamestown, James L. Hallmark of Erie, PA, Tammy Lynn Shuff of Jamestown, Richard Smoyer of Cleveland and Sean Sweeney of Florida, as well as many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Long of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Zappie and Katy Anderson; and an infant brother.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the New Apostolic Church in Randolph, NY.
