Obituary of Mildred A. Marzalen

Mildred A. Marzalen, 89, of Jamestown, passed away at 1:31 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA. A lifelong area resident, she was born February 19, 1928 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Albin R. and Edith E. Bull Carlson. She was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and also a graduate of the Jamestown School of Practical Nursing. For many years she was the office manager for her father's business, the former Carlson's Paint and Glass Store, retiring in 1976. In earlier years she worked as a licensed practical nurse at the former Jamestown General Hospital. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Ronald B. Marzalen whom she married November 4, 1955, two sons, Barry W. (Colleen) Brentley of Jamestown, Brad J. (Jennifer) Brentley of Fayetteville, OH, five grandchildren, Michael Brentley of Kennedy, NY, Jennifer Brentley, Taylor Anne Brentley both of Jamestown, Timothy Brentley, Sarah Brentley both of OH and several great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Ann McNally of Erie, PA. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
