Obituary of Wesley H. Gustafson
Wesley H. Gustafson, 75, of 921 Newland Avenue, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday March 22, 2017 in his home.
A Jamestown resident all of his life, he was born September 14, 1941, a son of J. Harold and Helen Swan Gustafson.
A 1959 graduate of Jamestown High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society and editor of the school's yearbook "Red & Green." He later graduated from Jamestown Community College in 1961 and the University of Buffalo in 1964 with a degree in electrical engineering.
He had been employed by Erie Technological Products and General Electric, Erie, PA.
A lifelong member of The Salvation Army he played trumpet and piano in the band, served as bandmaster and sang with the Senior Songsters.
Wesley was a kind soul who was especially devoted to the care of his mother with whom he made his home.
Surviving besides his mother is a sister Martha (Mitchell Ortego) Maxwell of Austin, TX and a niece Megan Ortego of Frisco, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father J. Harold Gustafson who died February 5, 1992.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Salvation Army. Major Richard Best will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received in Carlson Fellowship Hall of the church following the service Monday.
