Obituary of Angie F. Wells

Angie F. Wells, 83, of 526 Weeks St., passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 24, 2017 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. She was the widow of Marion A. "Nuck" Wells whom she married November 11, 1950 and who died June 14, 2016. Angie was born April 10, 1933 in Noxen, Pa., a daughter of the late Alton and Mildred Blizzard Field, and was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She had been employed as a secretary by Jamestown Royal Company, The American Heart Association, and retired from the treasurer's office of the City of Jamestown. She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church and belonged to the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Vikings. Angie devoted her entire life to the care and happiness of her family. Friday night dinners with her siblings were a lifelong tradition, typically organized by Angie. Angie maintained friends for life. Until her passing, she had monthly luncheons with "the girls", who were friends of hers since elementary school. She was not one to let any grass grow under her feet. As reflected in one of her favorite sayings - "this too shall pass" - Angie always remained upbeat and positive. She was never without a smile and had an infectious laugh. She is survived by her three children: Dennis Wells and his wife, Sarah of Fort Meyers, Fla. and Burlington, VT; Debra Wells Maisto of Jamestown and her children Megan (Nicholas) Maisto Lundgren of West Seneca, NY and Michael (Renee) Maisto of Rochester, NY; and Timothy P. Wells and his wife, Pauline and their children Lisa and Jennifer Wells of Los Angeles, CA and Joshua Wells of Ashville, NY. Also surviving are three brothers: Don "Jake" (Kathy) Field, Elbert (Sandy) Field and Harry Field, as well as two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Field and Judy Field, all of Jamestown. In addition to her husband, Marion, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton "Punkin" Field and Dana Field; a sister, Irene Thompson; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Field. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Hinman, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
