Obituary of Irma F. Kendall
Irma F. Kendall, 86, formerly of 9 Crane Street, died Tuesday April 4, 2017, in Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing with her loving family at her side.
An area resident all of her life, she was born April 25, 1930, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Raymond and Eudora Ecker Lawson.
She was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School.
She was employed by F.W. Woolworth Company as a section manager. She earlier had worked for Jamestown Telephone Company and Blackstone.
She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers and the Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild.
Her life was all about family. She put her working career on hold while raising her children and then returned to the workforce. She had a passion for quilting and it brought her great joy when her three daughters joined in her passion for quilting. She also enjoyed playing cards and time spent by the ocean.
Surviving are three daughters Janese (Tom) Berkhouse of Westfield, NY, Cynthia (Ronald) Scott of Greenwood, IN and Merry (Scott) Schang of Lakewood; seven grandchildren Ryan (Anna) Scott, Dawn (Chad) Burgett, Corey Scott, Lexi Kendall, E.J. Kendall, Destiny Kendall and Justin Kendall; six great grandchildren Ethan, Graecen, Codey and Tobey Scott, Andrew Burgett and Gianna Kendall; daughter in law Wendy (John) Kendall-Miller of Fredonia; two brothers Raymond (Marianne) Lawson of Falconer and Charles (Mary) Lawson of Sinclaiville; two brothers in law Lloyd Faulkner and Jack Samuelson both of Jamestown and a sister in law Priscilla Lawson of Perry, GA.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John S. Kendall, whom she married May 23, 1953 and who died December 2, 1987; a son John L. Kendall; two brothers Fredrick and Donny Lawson and two sisters Marlene Faulkner and Hannah Genoa Samuelson.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy Hoyer will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
