Our dad, James J. Desmond was a good friend of Tony's. They often could be found having coffee at McDonald's where they reminisced about their parts in World War II. My brother(Sean) and I knew of Tony by our father's association with him. James got the biggest laugh when Tony would go through the McDonald's drive through and ask for 2 cups of coffee. We always thought of Tony as a 'cool' guy.
We were always present to see our Dad and Tony in the color guard at Lakeview Cemetery. Tony was a great friend to our Dad until we lost him in 2003.
Sincerely,
Mark and Sean Desmond

I've known Tony my whole life and will greatly miss his uber engaging personality and charm. Our families were forever bonded when Tony and my father, Gilbert had to completely random meetings in different parts of Europe during WWII. They were lifelong friends after that and their families had much interaction during the years.
Although we are out of town until May we are there in spirit. We will be thinking about you Sam, Joe, Antoinette and your families.
We salute a great man!

Uncle Tony it is an honor to know you as a women veteran and to be a member of your Honor Guard. We enjoyed talking about our military time I as a female veteran along with Aunt Margaret. I will always remember you for the way you met us prior to an Honor Guard service at the VVA and ask if we were wearing our watches. You are an amazing man who will be missed by many but I know you will be watching over us all and all of our veterans past and present. I salute you and God Bless.
