Obituary of Elora R. Murray

Elora R. Murray, 97, formerly of 20 Ellis Ave Jamestown, passed away Wednesday April 12, 2017 in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born June 17, 1919 in Conewango Valley the daughter of the late L. Ralph and Bertha Thayer Spaulding. Elora graduated from Ellington High School and for many years worked at the former Bigelow's Department Store. She loved being a "Bigelow's Girl" and also enjoyed square dancing and golf. Surviving are several nieces. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle F. Murray whom she married June 30, 1939 and who died February 19, 2005; a brother, Merle F. Spaulding; and a sister, M. Florence Beckwith. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
