Obituary of Robert D. Frankson

Robert D. Frankson, 78, of 13 Flagg Avenue, died Sunday April 16, 2017, in his home following a long battle with cancer. A native of Jamestown, he was born December 13, 1938, a son of the late Raymond and Frances Lindberg Frankson. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Dahlstrom Manufacturing in the maintenance department for 40 years. He loved being outdoors and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed bowling for many years however his happiest moments were time spent with family and friends and playing games with his grandchildren. Surviving are three children Robert (Kathy) Frankson of Perrysburg, OH, Anne (Peter Frederick) Frankson of Jamestown and Sharon (Curtis) Zdunski of Jamestown; a step daughter Melinda Matteson of Jamestown; ten grandchildren Jeremy (Melissa) Walker and Robert (Stephanie) Frankson, Jr. of Perrysburg, OH and Jessica and Jonathon Zdunski, Joseph and Jessica Chapman, Josh Larsen and Tabatha, Tiffany and Samantha Ecker all of Jamestown; great grandchildren Nolan, Alyssa and Bradly Walker and one on the way all of Perrysburg; his companion Violet Chapman with whom he made his home; two brothers Donald and David Frankson both of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Paul Frankson; two brothers Richard and Jerry Frankson and a sister Joyce Patterson. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Timothy Hoyer will officiate. Burial will be in Busti Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
