Obituary of Jack R. Lang
Jack R. Lang, 80, formerly of Tanglewood Manor was born in Kane, PA on October 14, 1936 and passed away on June 19, 2017 at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
He attended Jamestown Public Schools and for many years was employed by the Resource Center Workshop, retiring in January 2017. He previously worked at the former Hill's Department Store and the Jamestown Post Office.
In his younger years, he was an excellent Roller Skater, frequenting Celoron and Evans Roller rinks. Jack was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and was grateful to his cousin Dave for treating him to one of their games in Buffalo, NY.
His favorite ways to relax was fishing, doing word search puzzles and bowling at Tanglewood Manor. He was an excellent reader and enjoyed reading the Post Journal daily. He also enjoyed volunteering, ringing the bells for the Salvation Army. Jack had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and had a big smile on his face for everyone. He had previously attended Grace Chapel for many years.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Revelle D. and Edura P. Martin Lang; two brothers, George W. Lang Sr. and Eugene Lang; a sister-in-law, Onalee Lang; a brother-in-law, Ronald J. McKotch; a niece and nephew; and his long time companion, Ginger De Stevens who passed away April 27, 2017.
Jack is survived by a brother, Leslie R. (Virginia) Lang of Bunker Hill, WVa., a sister, Janice M. McKotch of Jamestown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday June 21, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home.
Pastor Brad Hofert of Family Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery Lakewood, NY.
Memorials may be made to The Resource Center, Tanglewood Manor, Heritage Park Nursing Facility, or to a charity of choice.
