Obituary of Cynthia M. Cottone

Cynthia M. "Cindy" Cottone, 64, of 228 Howard St. Jamestown, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in the Hospice House of Warren County, Warren, PA. She was born June 3, 1953 in Olean, NY, a daughter of the late George J. and Carolyn Stavana Cottone. Cindy was a 1971 graduate of Olean High School and earned her bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University in 1975. She was currently employed as a Social Worker at UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital where she has worked for 42 years. She was the very first social worker hired at the hospital in 1975. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church and will be remembered as a loving and caring sister and friend who enjoyed horseback riding, reading and loved going to various arts and cultural events. Surviving is her brother, Daniel A. (Debra) Cottone of West Henrietta, NY, a niece, Elizabeth Cottone of West Henrietta, and a nephew Michael Cottone of Los Angeles, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, in Holy Apostles Parish at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017, in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
