Obituary of Phyllis E. Rein

Phyllis E. Rein, 83, of 2262 N. Maple Ave. Ashville, passed away peacefully Sunday July 23, 2017 in her home under the care of her family and Hospice. A lifelong area resident, she was born May 29, 1934 in the Town of Harmony, the daughter of the late Loren A. and Marjorie Braley Radcliffe. Phyllis was a 1953 graduate of Panama Central High School and a 1954 graduate of the Doyle Beauty School in Buffalo, NY. For 60 years, she was a Beautician, 4 years in Buffalo and 56 years out of her home in Ashville. She was an active member of the Ashville United Methodist Church, volunteering at the Ashville U.M. Food Pantry and a member of the United Methodist Women's group. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. Surviving are three sons, Scott Rein of Pickerington, OH; Kevin Rein of Ashville, NY; Gordon Rein of Westminster, MD; four grandchildren, Brittani Rein of Los Angeles, CA; Hillary Rein of Odessa, MO; Patrick Rein of Columbus, OH; and Landon Rein of Westminster, MD. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Rein; and her long time companion, Willard Smith. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday August 19, 2017 in the Ashville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Raymond C. Gilman, pastor and the Rev. Violet A. Davidson, retired pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery Panama, NY. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the church.
