Obituary of Mark A. Peterson

Mark A. "Sparky" Peterson, 69, of 642 3rd Street, Kennedy, died Saturday July 29, 2017, in Warren Manor. A Jamestown native, he was born September 6, 1947, a son of the late Helge and Marketta Coughlin Peterson. He was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army serving from 1967-69. He had been employed by Jamestown Macadam as a heavy equipment operator and welder. He was a member of Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion. Surviving are two daughters Christine Barnes of Jamestown and Amanda (David Peer) Peterson of Nazareth, PA; four grandchildren Zach and Alex Barnes and Aiden Orion and Lorelei Peer and siblings Bruce (Sharon) Peterson and Steven (Karen) Peterson both of Jamestown and Sue (John) Mangine of Lakewood. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by and an infant daughter Catherine Peterson; grandson Anders Peer and a sister Julie-Ann Nelson. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday.
