Obituary of Jennie K. Federko

Jennie K. Federko, 84, of Brookdale Lakewood, formerly of Forest Ave. in Jamestown, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at UPMC Chautauqua WCA, surrounded by her three children. She was the widow of Donald M. Federko whom she married November 24, 1962 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bemus Point and who died March 13th of this year. Jennie was born November 14, 1932 in Crosby, Pa., a daughter of the late Frank and Frances Ulyon Kaluza, and was a graduate of Bemus Point High School. She was a member of Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church, where she also belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society and the choir. Jennie was a loving mother and grandmother who always enjoyed cooking, canning and baking for her family. She is survived by three children: Mark (Carol) Federko of Jamestown, Michelle Marsh of Jamestown and Kathleen (Rick) Whippo of Frewsburg; and seven grandchildren: Brooke and Shane Federko, Devan and Kyle Marsh, and Maddison, Hunter and Paige Whippo. Also surviving are two sisters, Zella Wilson and Lillian Kaluza, and a brother, Joseph (Dorothy) Kaluza. In addition to her husband Don, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Kaluza; two sisters, Maggie VanOrd and Eveline Lawrence; a son-in-law, Dean Marsh who died April 19, 2013; and an infant son, Timothy Federko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Apostles Parish, Ss. Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 5:45 p.m. The family suggests memorials may be made to Holy Apostles Parish, 508 Cherry St., Jamestown, NY 14701; or the Southern Tier Kidney Assoc., P.O.
