Obituary of Joan D. Burditt

Joan D. Burditt, 91, formerly of 6 Curtis St. Jamestown, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong area resident, she was born September 26, 1925 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Sherman and Dorothy Jacobson Bluckhorn. She was a 1943 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a graduate of the Memorial School of Nursing in South Bend, IN. During her nursing career she had worked at WCA Hospital, Lutheran Social Services and in the offices of Dr. Vitanza, Dr. Jacobson and retired from the office of Dr. Fagerstrom. Surviving are a daughter, Christine (David) Lipsey of Bemus Point, NY, a son, Charles R. (Sherry) Burditt, Jr. of Carlsbad, CA, four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Burditt whom she married February 15, 1946 and who died January 31, 1996 and a grandson, Toby Burditt. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery.
