Obituary of Luke Morganti
Luke Morganti, 59, formerly of Jamestown, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, in Houston, TX.
He was born April 5, 1958 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Isdoro and Josephine Tobia Morganti.
Luke was a 1976 graduate of Jamestown High School where he was an accomplished trombone player in the Red Raider marching band and the concert band. He also attended classes at Jamestown Community College.
In 1981, he departed Jamestown and moved south where he was successful in two professional endeavors for which he was very proud. For many years he was a licensed surveyor for the waste management company BFI, working in New Orleans, LA, and DuBois, PA. He then relocated to Houston, TX where he was a project superintendent for Total Contracting Limited.
Luke will be remembered as an avid golfer and former Cleveland Browns Fan. He loved discussing sports with his brother Mark. He also enjoyed eating, laughing, telling stories and just being around people, usually he was the one everyone would gather around. It is no small feat that he was a vital part of the special bond he had with his Jefferson Junior High School pals, known as the "Joy Boys'' who have maintained a close relationship for over 46 years.
Surviving are his wife, Edelia Deere, a native of the Philippines, with whom he resided in Houston, TX, his two siblings; Madeline Morganti and Mark Morganti both of Jamestown, two nephews; Michael Johnson Morganti of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Johnson of Chicago, IL, as well as many loving and caring cousins who were a large part of Luke's life and will have a huge void to fill.
