Obituary of Maxine K. Harvey

Maxine K. Harvey, 74, of 139 Jones Street Lakewood, passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 in the Lutheran Retirement Home. She was born November 7, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Max and Viola McCoy Dick. Maxine graduated Cum Laude in 1964 from Indiana University of PA receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Prior to retirement in 1998, she was an Elementary school teacher at Panama Central School. Her other memberships include the Ashville United Methodist Church and the National Education Association (NEA). She was an avid golfer and 4 time club champion at Maplehurst Country Club. Surviving are her husband Dean C. Harvey whom she married November 23, 1963; two sons: Greg (Jody) Harvey of Hamburg, NY; Tim Harvey of Trumbull, CT; six grandchildren: Allyson and Victoria Harvey both of Hamburg, NY; Ryan Harvey serving in the United States Marine Corp.; Eric, Andrew, and Scott Harvey all of Trumbull, CT; two great grandchildren, Bentley and Cayden; a brother: Max Dick of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and a sister: Sandra (Richard) Wolfe of Greensboro, GA. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday October 6, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond C. Gilman, pastor of Ashville United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
