Obituary of Carmen N. Santiago

Carmen N. "Nelly" Santiago, 57, of 235 South Main St. Jamestown, passed away at 1:21 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. A Jamestown area resident for the past 30 years, she was born July 25, 1960 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Jorge and Romanita Justiniano Santiago. Before her retirement due to health concerns, she was employed by Sam's Club for several years. Surviving are her children; Jose Gilot, Luz Martinez, Jorge Rivera, Maritza Vazquez, Josephine Natal, Anthony Melendez all of Jamestown, Dioselyn Cortez of Bronx, NY, 16 grandchildren, two brothers; Wilson Sanchez of Jamestown, George Santiago of Buffalo, NY, and two sisters; Josephine Santiago of Tampa, FL, Elizabeth Santiago of Reading, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother; Edwin Sanchez who died August 2, 2015. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
