He was born on November 22, 1937 in Jamestown, the youngest son of the late William and Ida Vincent. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Vincent and his sister, Ruth Vincent. Surviving are his two sons, Tod Vincent and Kurt (Heather) Vincent; and step-son, Matthew (Jessica) Johnson. A lifelong area resident, Skip was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. His friends will always remember what they call "skip-isms" for the hilarious comments he made. He loved Chautauqua Lake where he spent most of his life boating and was the longest living member of the Chautauqua Lake Power Boat Club. He was also a member of the Lakewood American Legion Post 1286, Celoron Moose, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, War Vets, Vikings and the Fisherman's Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan and traveled to numerous races. In the late 60's, he was a Stateline Eriez points champion at Eriez Speedway. Skip served in the US Army Reserves and later worked for the Village of Lakewood, from where he eventually retired. He spent his summers boating and restoring old wooden boats. For the last ten years, he enjoyed wintering in Florida with his motor home. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at the Lakewood American Legion on Tuesday, October 24th at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W.
