Obituary of Richard B. Garvin

Richard B. Garvin, 57, of Falconer, died Wednesday November 15, 2017, in his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born September 17, 1960, in Jamestown, a son of Harley and Corene Mae Hamrick Garvin. He was employed by Jamestown Community College and earlier had worked for Chautauqua Hardware in the maintenance department for 26 years, in addition he served as union steward for 17 years. Surviving are his beloved wife, Vickie L. Garvin, a daughter, Julie A. Gellerson (Kevin Gellerson) of Eden, a son, Kurtis R. Garvin of Prospect, CT, two grandchildren, Nolan and Olivia Gellerson, brothers Ron Garvin (Sheryl Garvin) of Jamestown, NY, and Randy Garvin of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Corene Mae Garvin, his father, Harley Ray Garvin, his sister, Connie Mae Yanik, and a brother, Franklin B. Garvin. At Richard's request, a private service was held on November 16, 2017 at Lind Funeral Home and no visitation was observed. Burial followed at Lake View Cemetery.
