Obituary of Janet E. Miller

Janet E. Miller, 85, formerly of 33 Spruce Street, and originally of Moon Road, Jamestown, passed away Tuesday December 19, 2017 in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born April 7, 1932 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Drake Michaels. Janet was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a member of the Red Hatters, the American Legion, and the Quilters Guild. Janet loved animals, especially dogs and cats and volunteered at the Humane Society. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making Teddy Bears. Surviving are a daughter: Dr. Cindy Miller of Arlington, TX; a son: Michael S. (Susan) Miller of Jamestown; three grandchildren: Josh (Nichole A.) Miller, Anna Miller (Michael Koresko), and Nichole L. Miller all of Jamestown; six great grandchildren: Joseph, Zaporah, Michael (Casey Briggotta), Malachi, Maxwell, and Rudy; two great great grandchildren, Adrianna and Thea; a sister, Susan Spillane and a brother, Bruce Michaels, both of Jamestown; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Miller Jr. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday December 27, 2017 in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Bender, Heritage Group Chaplain will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
