Obituary of Daniel B. Linn

Daniel B. Linn, 69, of 116 Whitehill Ave. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 6:00 am Saturday, December 30, 2017, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born July 31, 1948 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Frank P. and Marion Jacobson Linn. Dan was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his bachelor's degree from the State university of New York at Fredonia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1971-1972. Before his retirement, he was the store manager for Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and will be remembered as an avid reader and one who truly loved his dogs. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Carol A. Peterson Linn whom he married August 22, 1970, his three children, Patty K. (Phil Buffone) Linn, Jessica A. (Andy) Dorler, Aaron B. Linn all of Jamestown, six grandchildren, Gavin Dorler, Jaxson Dorler, Kyler Dorler, Cloey Linn, Ariana Linn, Gabriel Linn all of Jamestown, a brother, John Linn of Webster, NY and a sister, Karen Linn Femia of Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his father who died March 29, 2001 and his mother who died November 16, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel K. Nagle, pastor of the First Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends will be received from noon to 2:00 pm Thursday, two hours prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd.
