Obituary of Donald L. Flinchbaugh

Donald L. Flinchbaugh, 84, of Gerry, died Tuesday January 30, 2018, in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. He was born October 7, 1933, in Dallastown, PA, a son of the late Woodrow and Marian Hostler Flinchbaugh. He was a 1951 graduate of Dallastown High School. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Crawford Furniture as director of purchasing. He earlier had worked for Jamestown Sterling for 5 years and Ethan Allen for 15 years. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and later Lakewood United Methodist Church serving both churches as choir director. Surviving are his wife Shirley Libby Flinchbaugh, whom he married May 30, 1958; two children Julie (Mike) Anderson of Jamestown and Todd (Donna) Flinchbaugh of Gerry; two grandchildren Tara (Daniel) Barrett of Harrodsburg, KY and Troy Flinchbaugh of Jamestown; a great grandson Jack Barrett; a sister Barbara Wise of Dallastown, PA and a brother Timothy Flinchbaugh of State College, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
