Obituary of Jeffrey R.A. Thompson, Jr.

Jeffrey R.A. Thompson, Jr., 47, of Jamestown, passed away at 11:54 pm Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born January 10, 1971 in Jamestown, NY, a son of Dorothy Howell Smith and the late Jeffrey R.A. Thompson, Sr. Jeffery "Jrat" enjoyed outdoor activities and cooking for his family. He loved football and was an avid New York Giants fan. His infectious smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his mother, Dorothy (Rodney) Smith, four children, Calab Goodemote, Jalin Thompson, TeAnna Thompson and Tyresse Thompson, three sisters, Tasha Johnson, Mercedes Thompson and Victoria Thompson and two brothers, Jason (Nina) Thompson and Robert Thompson and his uncles, John E.R. "PeeWee" Thompson, Cory E. A. Thompson and his aunt Dorcel A.E. Thompson. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey R.A. Thompson, Sr., his paternal grandparents John R. and Jimmea (Howie) Thompson, his maternal grandparents Robert and Dorothy (Simon) Howell and uncles, Myles P.E. Thompson, Sr., Bartin L.B. Thompson and Howie E.D. "Buster" Thompson. The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. William Smith will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
