Pastor Soderquist was a wonderful selfless servant of god. He was Pastor for my confirmation, and was always kind, patient, and attentive. He was a positive role model and counselor for many. Condolences to Cheryl and family.

We want to extend our heartfelt condolences to Pastor's family (we always felt about him as our Pastor). He was such a kind, caring and loving man who was very important in our lives, as he was in the lives of many who were blessed to know him. As Jail Chaplain he worked with us and the other members of the Jail Chaplaincy Committee to better serve the inmates at the Chautauqua County Jail, where John was the Jail Superintendent in the 1970's and 1980's. Ken and Dawne became very close personal friends to us as well, and Ken married us aboard the Sea Lion sailing ship in 1985. He was always so willing to help either of us out in any way that he could. We tried to see Ken frequently when he was at Lutheran, especially after he lost Dawne. He always was happy to see us and had a smile and enjoyed conversing with John about many topics. He kept us up to date on his family, and we felt like we knew all of you through Ken. We missed seeing him this past Christmas (because John was sick) as we always visited and brought him some sugar-free candy that he loved getting. He went to Heaven with Billy Graham and I can just envision the two of them arriving at the throne of our Lord and Savior together. He will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him.
