I have very fond memories of uncle Mel when he and I attended Hoyne ave Wesleyan church for many years
He was always there to lend a hand and help
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family because he will be truly missed
Heaven has gained a warrior and he is rejoicing at this time

Melvin Bronson (or as we knew him, Uncle Melvin) was a great man. He was a permanent fixture in my young life at church and a regular visitor at our home. To me, what made him great was his humility, generosity, and sense of humor. Uncle Melvin knew his place in this world relative to God and others and was always willing to serve. He was always ready with a car ride or a kind word or that dry, underplayed sense of humor that always made me smile and often made me laugh. One of my earliest memories with Uncle Melvin was when he took me and my brother to our first professional baseball game at Wrigley Field. He was not a wealthy man; but he bought the tickets, gave us money for food, and provided a humor-filled lesson about the game of baseball. Uncle Melvin may have had a diminutive physical stature, but he will always loom large in my memory as a great man. Matthew 25:40 states, "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'" (NIV) May Uncle Melvin rest in the peace, grace, and comfort that he provided to so many on this earth.

We are so blessed to have had Uncle Mel as a part of our lives. He has left behind a legacy of loving others and being a committed follower of his Lord and Savior. Truly our loss, but heaven's gain.

My Condolences to my fellow family members of Melvin. I'm the grandson of his late brother Lindy. Melvin and I became pen pals for years following my grandfather's passing in 2004. I'm deeply saddened by the news of his passing away. He will be missed. I grieve with you from Utah. As great of a man as I know him to be, I know he's in a better place. *Hugs to everyone out there with him.*
