Obituary of Ronald A. Whitney

Ronald A. Whitney, 75, of 346 Dump Road, Sugar Grove, died Wednesday March 7, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 28, 1942, in Jamestown, the son of the late Donald and Eleanor Pangborn Whitney. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of Whitney's Western Wear. He earlier had worked as a machinist for various companies. He was a member of Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church. Ron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed his dogs, riding motorcycle, hunting and feeding his grandchildren's chickens and horses. Surviving is his wife Susan Williams Whitney, whom he married October 6, 1962; two children Thomas (Tonya) Whitney of Sugar Grove and Deborah Dorsett and her companion Stewart Miller of Orlando, FL and four grandchildren Ericka Rhoden of Olean, NY, and Danielle Bradish, Brielle Whitney and Brodie Whitney all of Sugar Grove. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today in Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will not be observed.
