Obituary of Cheryl M. DiMaio

Cheryl M. DiMaio, 70, of 5 Juliet Street, died Tuesday March 13, 2018, in her home surrounded by her family. A Jamestown resident all of her life, she was born October 14, 1947, a daughter of the late Clair and Muriel Jacobs Carr. She was a 1965 graduate of Jamestown High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by DiMaio Electric as office manager. She earlier had worked for Jamestown Telephone Company and later Alltel. Her best job that brought her the most joy was being a full time grandma. She was a member of Allen Park Women's Club and was chairperson of the Jamestown High School Red Raider Football Alumni. She always enjoyed reading the notes that former football players would send back to her with their dues payment. Surviving are her husband Joseph DiMaio, whom she married June 23, 1973; two children Joseph "Joey" (Molly McCarthy) DiMaio of Milford, MA and Sara (Richie) Joly of Jamestown; four grandchildren Cole and Peyton Joly of Jamestown and Madelyn and Cameron DiMaio of Milford, MA and a sister Audene (Jim) Jarosz of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers Gerald, Jack, Gail and Lyle Carr. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Covenant Church, 520 Spring Street, Jamestown.
