Obituary of Rocco L. Miraglia

Rocco L. Miraglia, 90, of 1501 West 3rd Street Jamestown, formerly of Howard Ave. WE, passed away peacefully Monday March 12, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 31, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY the son of the late Peter C. and Margaret Insana Miraglia. Rocco was a 1948 graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls, NY where he completed the course in Machine Shop Practice. He continued his studies in machining thru Blackstone Corp., Jamestown Community College, and Bridgeport Machines. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WW II and the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked at Art Metal and Blackstone Corp. as a tool maker. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakewood for over 60 years, and a life member of Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion in Celoron, and the VFW. Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Gleason Miraglia whom he married November 14, 1953 in Warren, PA; 4 children, Peter (Melissa) Miraglia, Patricia (Curtis) Barnes, and Daniel Miraglia all of Jamestown; Elizabeth (John) Rieser of Bailey, CO; five grandchildren: Amanda Lilley of Jamestown, Megan Miraglia (JC Quirin) of Berkeley, CA, Miranda Miraglia and Michael Miraglia both of Ridgeway, PA, Steven Miraglia of Albany, NY; 5 step grandchildren; a brother, Joseph (Cindy) Miraglia of Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Antoinette Baglia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Warren, PA. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
