Obituary of Linda E. Knight

Linda E. Knight, 70, of 114 Arcade Avenue, died Tuesday March 20, 2018, in UPMC Chautauqua WCA. A Jamestown resident all of her life, she was born July 14, 1947, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Alice Peterson Weatherly. She was a 1965 graduate of Jamestown High School and later received an Associate Degree from Jamestown Community College. Prior to her retirement in 2014, she was employed by The Resource Center as a resident manager for more than 20 years. Following retirement she worked as a private duty home care aide. She was a past president of AM Rotary and member of Vikings Lodge. Linda was a very active person. She enjoyed taking a road trip to see her favorite bands in concert, going whitewater rafting in West Virginia and taking her kayak out on Chautauqua Lake. She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, and loved watching her grandson play for the Randolph basketball team. She also enjoyed sitting by the lake with a cup of Tim Horton's or on the beach on her frequent vacations to St. Pete Beach, Fla. Surviving are her husband William Knight, whom she married March 19, 1977; three children Shayne (Dan Skidmore) Knight of Syracuse, Christopher (Sasha) Wakefield of Jamestown and Matthew (Gina) Wakefield of Jamestown; five grandchildren Zack and Sam Knight and Ryan and Lucy Skidmore and Isaac Wakefield and two sisters June (Robert) Pumford of Jamestown and Beth (Wayne) Lindquist of Maple Springs. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
