Obituary of Douglas C. Weston

Douglas C. "Bump" Weston, 76, of Bemus Point, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, in the Heritage Green Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born Dec. 27, 1941 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Leonard H. and Isabel J. Demming Weston. Douglas grew up in Russell, PA and was a 1960 graduate of Eisenhower High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era from 1964-1966. Prior to his health issues he was employed by Carriage House Inc. He was a past president of the War Vets Recreation and also a member of the VFW Post 557, Bemus Point. Doug had a great sense of humor, enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, friends, and his dogs Harley and Bailey. He loved to play golf, poker, and cribbage with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife Peggy J. Haskin Weston, whom he married June 26, 1976; a son Philip R. (Sandy) Weston of Greenville, SC; and five grandchildren: Grant, Cade, Ava, Halle, and Parker Weston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Leonard T. "Lee" Weston, whom passed away on Nov. 29, 2014. The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, April, 9, 2018 in the Lind Funeral Home with full military honors. The Rev. Douglas Kibbe, pastor of Church on the Rock, will officiate.
