Obituary of Alice I. Olson

Alice I Olson, 95, passed away Thursday May 10, 2018 in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born October 22, 1922 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Carl Samuel and Jennie Olive Linn Anderson. Alice was a graduate of Jamestown High School, Class of 1941. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was a homemaker and was employed at the Dahlstrom Manufacturing Company and the Jamestown Public Schools. Upon retiring, she babysat for her three grandchildren. She attended Zion Covenant Church where she was confirmed in May of 1936. Alice enjoyed babysitting, laundry, baking, sewing, gardening and shopping. She and her late husband enjoyed attending music and sporting events for their children and grandchildren. Surviving are two sons: James N. (Pam) Olson of Jamestown, Daniel R. Olson of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren: Karli C. (Jon) McCune of Hamburg, NY, Joanna L. (Kieran) Stitt of Falconer, NY; James C. Olson of Jamestown; a great granddaughter, Leila J. McCune and a great grandson, Oliver P. Stitt. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, R. Norman Olson whom she married February 20, 1954 and who died October 31, 2014; and a brother, Roger C. Anderson. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
