I was so shocked to see Pete's obituary. I worked with him at the Post-Journal. He taught me a lot about the computers. He was one energetic, hard working guy! He loved cars. My heart broke to see that he passed. You have my deepest, heartfelt, sympathy. He was one great guy!

My cousin Pete was the youngest in our generation. When we were children, the Elofson's visited us in Chicagoland some summers; others we spent in NY. I have especially fond memories of boating and fishing with them on Lake Chatauqua. Our visiting schedule became less regular as we grew older, but I was fortunate enough to be able to attend Peter and Peggy's wedding. Most of our visits after that were by phone and typically included talk of family, and of Pete's enthusiasm for his work at the Jamestown Post Journal and for his collection of classic cars. Most recently our talks were about his intense battle with cancer - Pete had become a warrior! He is missed! My condolences go to Peggy and Marsha, with sadness.... Sue Nelson

Lighting this candle in memory of Pete. He was a great man, full of knowledge a real asset to The Post-Journal. A great friend to many!
It is a blessing he will no longer suffer, but will be missed by many.
Rest in Peace Pete. Dawn

Pete grew up with my oldest brother Kenny and he was close to our whole family. He was often at our house and up to shenanigans with Kenny. Pete worked so hard and always had a happy disposition. He was a wonderful human being and will be missed by many. The Schultz family sends love and condolences.

Pete was my cousin and he was born about three months after me. One of my earliest memories of independence at about 10 or 11 years of age was being put (alone) on the Erie Lackawanna railroad in Chicago and being retrieved by Pete and his parents in Jamestown for a week or two in the summer. Pete’s parents would reciprocate and some years he would come to stay with our family in Illinois. I still vividly recall some of our summer adventures together at his home and ours.
Pete had an encyclopedic knowledge and interest in cars. It always amazed me that he knew details of cars not only of “our” era but earlier too. I had the privilege of visiting Pete earlier in July, and despite his physical discomfort, he insisted on taking me for a ride where we toured the old Jamestown “stomping grounds” in one of his vintage cars. My visit reminded me of his devotion to family, his work ethic, his commitment to his community, and his values.
Peggy and Marsha, your husband and father was a man of incredible stamina, courage, and dignity. He is missed.

Pete was a great guy. We had a great time in high school with are yamaha's, and buying and selling boats and motors. I'm glad I was able to see him two weeks ago.
Blessings to his family.

Peggy and Marsha, I’m so sorry for your loss. Pete was a great husband and father. I remember him well from my younger days growing up with Marsha. I remember he would come pick up Marsha from my house in one of his classic cars. A convertible, if I remember correctly, was the one that comes to mind first; I think it was red too. My thoughts and love are with you both during this difficult time.
