Obituary of Ronald L. Golden

Ronald L. Golden, 69, of Jamestown, passed away at 9:47 pm Friday, August 17, 2018, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born September 20, 1948 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late William C. and Shirley E. Dahlbeck Golden. Ron was a graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his associates degree from Jamestown Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Norfolk, VA and was on the USS Kitty Hawk as a signalman. He also served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for several years. Before his retirement he was employed as a draftsman for Hopes Windows where he worked for over 30 years. Ron attended the Fluvanna Community Church and was a member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion. He also enjoyed bowling, playing pool and a good game of chess. Surviving are his children, Lori (Ray) Hebner of Panama, NY, Eugene (Pamela) Mulligan of Johnsburg, NY, Tonya Carr of North East, PA, his grandchildren, Dustin Hebner of Bemus Point, NY, Jamie Mohney of Busti, NY, Nicholas Mulligan of Rutland, VT, Kyle Mulligan of Johnsburg, NY, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, Richard (Laura) Golden of Jamestown, Robert (Virginia) Golden of Virginia Beach, VA, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife the former Phyllis Mason Golden whom he married August 16, 1986 and who died February 3, 2014. The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer, pastor of the Fluvanna Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Tuesday, two hours prior to the service in the funeral home.
